Sat Oct 18th

hello everyone! We are back with another update. Tim and I are doing really good, or at least Tim is for the moment. Thanks to everyone who helped to make my birthday special! Its always nice to have you birthday on a weekend that way you already have the day off!!! Well I fully recovered from the stomach bug that I had a couple of weeks ago. Now, I see it spreading through the schools, hopefully I won't get it again. This week Tim had Monday off(Columbus Day), so nice 3 day weekend for him. I however am on a fall break. So, I had Thursday and Friday off. I thought I was going to use that time to get some small things done around the house. Someone else had other plans for me!!! It started on Wednesday with a pain in my ear. I have always been prone to ear infections, so I thought ok I will just get some meds on Thursday and I should be fine. On Thursday the pain was really bad and so I trudged off to my Doctors appointment. Just as sweet as Tim could be he met me there to be with me at the appointment. Well, both of our jaws hit the ground when the PA told us that it wasn't an ear infection at all. It was Mastoiditis. A viral infection in the mastoid bone. So she put me on Amoxicillian. We both went home and looked Mastoiditis up and found that it either comes from a ear infection not taken care of or the herpies simplex virus. Neither one of those things had been current in my life so we both thought it strange. Just wait it gets worse. So, Friday morning I wake up with Tim and have breakfast with him. At first I thought my left eye was just irritated from over using my contacts, but when I went to take my first bite of oatmeal and it fell out of my mouth I got worried. I asked Tim to look at my face and he said that my left side was droopy and my left eye was not closing all the way. I couldn't even smile!!! So again I called the doctor's office and they got me in right away. They looked me over and found that I have Bell's Palsy. Looking back the pain in my mastoid bone was the first symptom. Now, I did have to wait a while for my Doctor to coordinate with my obgyn about medicines I could take. They finally deciede that I could take prednisone. This medicine does not cross the placenta. So, here I am with a droopy face. Taking Prednisone, Amoxicillian, and all my other prenatal stuff. I also have to use eye drops and and eye patch at night to keep my left eye closed. They say that Bell's palsy is fairly common in Pregnancy. Yea!!! for me!!!!! On the good side of news I felt the baby move for the first time last week!!! Cool experiance! Anyways, thats all for now!
